Last week when I was out and about with Shoo Shoo I was stopped by a LA journalist who wanted to write about me. She said: "I saw you and I thought you looked interesting".

Funny because she approached me seconds after I was talking to the two girls which I wrote about in my previous entry.

LA Street Looks!

Yesterday I was out and about with my besty Shoo Shoo getting our creative juices flowing when I noticed these two fashionistas making the LA streets look like their own runway.
I had to stop Angela ( LEFT) and Elizabeth (RIGHT) for a photo op. I love seeing people expressing their individuality through fashion. It's quite inspiring.

80s Hair Metal Party In My Head!

People always ask me what I think about when I create a new piece. What thoughts, images, objects do you think about? they ask.
The truth is, there is always a 80s hair metal party going on in my head . Sometimes the party stops for a brief period of time and I visualize my designs. Other times ideas come to me in my dreams.

How cool were the bands back than ? I wish I was a teenager in the 8os.

Seafoam Green!

Some call it Turquoise, some say aquamarine, others say Tiffany Blue ( registered trademark ). I prefer the term seafoam green and it's one of my favorite colors. I'm so excited to see seafoam green take over the Spring/Summer fashion market !

Enjoy the soft colors because the flower patterns are going to make you crazy by the end of summer.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Gala update!

Today was the big St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Gala! I dropped in at the Nokia theater in downtown Los Angeles to set up the display for the dress I had donated.

I also had the opportunity see all the amazing items that were up for action. Lots of amazing autographed sport memorabilia and much more. It was a collectors heaven. So awesome to see celebrities come together and use their power for a great cause.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Gala 2010 !

Tomorrow night is the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Gala 2010. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers, will celebrate its inaugural 'Estrellas por la Vida' (Stars for Life) Gala on April 6th, 2010.

This gala will celebrate a night of hope for children who are battling cancer and other catastrophic diseases. During this special celebration, St. Jude will be honoring Daisy Fuentes, Kenny Ortega and Zoe Saldana for their continuing support and dedication to children's causes in local communities and around the world. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable star-studded evening, as well as a live performance from Latin superstar Beto Cuevas.

And ZHOVAK.COM is honored to be a part of this event . ZHOVAK.COM has donated a custom hand crafted gown to be auctioned off for this amazing cause.

There is nothing wrong with loving fashion, following your passion and living your dream. But make sure to always cheerfully and willingly give away something back to those less fortunate.

I use to feel bad thinking my passion in life was not of substance. That fashion did nothing for humanity. But i found my outlets and I give back as much as I can.

Its important to give to those in need. It doesn't have to be money. It can be time, food, clothing or even a smile at a stranger.

Easter Fashion !

Who said humans are the only ones who can dress up in couture ? My Easter eggs are rocking out in custom Z HOVAK . My love of fashion carries on in every Holiday.
Good thing I don't eat eggs, otherwise i had to stress about eating my fashion eggs!

Glitter Nail Polish !

I must admit, Glitter Nail Polish is not easy to work with! Its messy, streaky and needs numerous coats to even out. Nonetheless I'm still obsessed with super intensely glitter nail polish and I try to do the best I can.

Besides having funky nails, I also find Glitter Nail Polish, a great way of protecting my nails from breaking. Layer over layer of shine keeps my nails hard and I never have to worry about the polish chipping off.

I declare the first Friday of every month GLITTER FRIDAYS. Just in time for the local flea market...WOOOHOOO.....
